Central, Strutt. "THE CYBER BULLYING VIRUS." YouTube. YouTube, 22 Mar. 2012. Web. 01 Oct. 2014.
In this video, the narrator talks about cyber bullying as if it was a virus that is spreading throughout social medias and in schools. She talks about how whatever the bully posts on social medias or sends in a text can be seen by multiple people. When talking about cyber bullying as the virus, she said that it can be transferred by phone, email, and social media and can happen at school, home, or anywhere else. Some of the motives for cyber bullying can be hate, anger, envy, insecurity, and peer pressure. The effects from cyber bullying include depression and sometime's even suicide. At the end of the video the narrator talks about standing up to cyber bullying by supporting those who are being bullied and reporting those who are doing the bullying. This article perfectly portrays how cyber bullying works and I think is a video that should be used in classrooms to show students how fast something can spread on the internet. Since it was published two years ago, I think it is up to date because cyber bullying hasn't changed that much in two years.
"Types of Cyber Bullying." Types of Bullying. N.p., 2013. Web. 29 Sept. 2014.
This article talks about how cyber bullying is the most popular type of bullying right now and is one of the hardest types of bullying to stop because of its easy access on the internet. The article states five different types of cyber bullying which include cyberstalking, flaming, exclusion, outing, and masquerading. Cyberstalking is when an individual sends threatening and mean messages to another individual through text messages, emails, and social media. Flaming is being bullied publicly in chat rooms, instant messages, and emails. Exclusion is when a person is singled out and is no longer included in their online group. Outing is when a person's private information is put online for everyone to see. Masquerading is when a bully creates a fake identity and harasses an individual while keeping their own identity a secret. I think this article conveys the different types of bullying well and is done so by someone who has knowledge about cyber bullying. This article is up to date because it was published in 2013.
